Now more than ever we are all feeling a bit in a rut lately; completely understandable too. Our lives have been put to a halt and now we’re facing a terrible crisis going on right in our backyards. It's very easy to turn on the news and get sucked into the media frenzy. It's time to let all your worries go and use these 5 tricks to help you get through your quarantine funk.

1. Go Outside

And no, I don't mean run to Target or go grab your favorite Starbucks latte. Go for a walk, run (if you are crazy enough to do that), bike ride, rollerblade, etc. Go outside and feel the sun on your face and breath fresh air. As silly and simple as it may sound, it‘s a mood booster your body needs.

2. Make Your Favorite Meal

Or even bake your favorite dessert! Food always makes me feel better so why not give it a try. If you can't cook, guess what, now you probably have the time to learn. Sign up for an online cooking class or even a bartending class and learn how to make your favorite cocktails at home.

My Favorite Bourbon Salmon Recipe:

• 2 Filets of Fresh Bourbon Salmon

• 1 Cup of Rice

• 2 Cups of Broccoli

• Maple Syrup Drizzle

• Chopped Green Onion for Taste and Color

3. Make FaceTime Plans

I know it's tough being away from your friends and families but it's really for the best. Good thing we have the technology to help us out! We are all still connected and it can be just as fun too. Set aside some time to "get together" and bring snacks and wine too! Watch a movie, play cards or drinking games, or be super adventurous and learn a TikTok dance or two.

4. Read a Book

Escape everything and get lost in your favorite novel. There isn’t a better time to sit outside, in a bath, or even lay down on the couch and read a book cover to cover. Let your mind wander and engage in the storyline where the outside world doesn't exist for a moment. Stressed about money? Me too. Here’s what helped me!

5. Get into a Routine

How many of you actually get up and make your bed every single morning? Probably just me. You'd be surprised to learn how a simple task such as making your bed could set your day for success. Get up, drink your coffee or tea, make your bed, workout, shower, eat breakfast, read a part of your book, sit outside and drink lots of water. Soon, you'll get more invested in your routine than your quarantine funk.

I hope these 5 tricks to release your quarantine funk help you as much as they have helped me. Feel free to share more as you create your own. Remember to take a break and watch the sunset. Quarantine or not, I'm not waking up in time to watch the sunrise.

Until Next Time.

Cheers,

Baccerina
